On November 22-24, 2023, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the 7th International Scientific and Practical Conference “CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY: SCIENCE, ECONOMY AND PRODUCTION” was held on the basis of Shostka Institute of Sumy State University. Due to the state of war, the conference was held online using the Google Meet internet service.
The International Scientific and Practical Conference “CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY: SCIENCE, ECONOMY AND PRODUCTION” was launched in 2011, and since then it has become a significant scientific event not only for Ukrainian scientists, but also for representatives of many countries of the world.
The scientific event covered various areas of science and was presented in seven sections:
1. Special chemical technology, ammunition production and explosive works in industry.
2. General chemical technology, ecology, disposal and demining problems.
3. Energy saving and alternative fuels, prevention of energy crisis.
4. Post-war reconstruction and management of the economy of Ukraine.
5. Information technologies, modeling and automation.
6. Chemistry and pharmaceutics.
7. Philosophical, methodological and social aspects of production in wartime conditions.
104 scientists from Ukraine, Poland, Azerbaijan, USA, Norway, Latvia, Finland took part in this year's conference. There were representatives of higher educational institutions, enterprises and organizations, Armed Forces of Ukraine, scientific and state institutions from the cities of: Kyiv, Warsaw, Gliwice, Baku, Boulder, Helsinki, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Glukhiv and Shostka.

Zakusylo Roman Vasyliovych, Deputy Director of the Shostka Institute of Sumy State University for Scientific Work, Chairman of the Conference Organizing Committee, Ph.D., Associate Professor Vaskivskyi Mykhailo Ivanovych, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Central Research Institute of Armaments and Military Equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, colonel, Ph.D., professor Voivodka Andrzej, director of the company Explo-Expertiza, Gliwice, Poland, state expert of the Republic of Poland, Ph.D., professor Platsynda Pavlo Anatoliiovych, deputy head of the Department of Occupational Safety and of the environment of the AFI production department of PJSC FARMAK, Pavlenko Oksana Viacheslavivna, deputy head of the organizing committee, Ph.D.
Among the guests of the conference, an important and useful exchange of information took place about international support of Ukrainian science and industry during the war, about advanced research and development in priority world directions of development of chemical technologies, analysis of modern scientific problems, theory and practice of production management, determination of current directions of scientific research in interests of industry, submission of new developments and technical solutions to the market.
At the final plenary session, not only the results of scientific research were summarized, but also the prospects for further cooperation were outlined.
The outcome of the conference was the adoption of a decision to publish a collection of scientific works, as well as further cooperation of scientists to strengthen scientific, technical and industrial cooperation in the mining and, especially, defense industries.
